How to Concentrate while Studying (TIPS – Part 1)

Always remember the 3 Ds : Determination, Dedication, and Discipline

                                                                                                                                      ~ Sunil Gavaskar

It is the dilemma of every student, no matter what age or time!

How do you concentrate on studying?!

No problem, at all! Concentration comes easily once you put your mind to it.

What can you do to concentrate?

* Start off by identifying the source of your distraction – electronics, windows, noise, siblings, daydreaming, etc. Sometimes, your surroundings can be the cause of your distraction. What can you do to change your surroundings?

* Ask yourself if you can do anything to prevent the disturbances. If yes, then what? – turn off your phone, ask your parent(s) to hide your electronics, draw the curtains, put on earplugs (no music or with calm music and no wordings), study alone in a room, keep a timer for 20 minutes and take a 3 minute break, etc. Every obstacle is an opportunity in disguise. Learn to see the good in every situation.

* Cut down on the amount of time you spend on the phone, watching television, reading novels, listening to loud music, etc. Remember, you can spend time on entertainment all your life but your 10th grade Board Exam will only come once. Do not let this chance go to waste. Make the most of it and make yourself proud by not giving up.

* Keep a strict time table and stick to your schedule. Ask your family members and friends to not disturb you during the time you are studying. Be serious in your work and they will respect your needs. If you have the willpower, anything and everything can happen. Just keep going forward.

Remember, you are not alone! We believe in you – you can do it if you put your mind to it… Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Do you have the will to concentrate? If yes, nothing can stop you!

Best wishes for the new year! 🙂
