In reply to your question, it helps to give examples. As for equations, I don’t think there’s a need to mention them while giving definitions.

Yes, in History, it’s best if you write the answers in points. However, guage the way in which the question is asked and then apply your own discretion to decide whether to write 2-3 paragraphs or points. Again, though, writing in points is primarily the way in which we were taught to write our answers.
