Textbook, Textbook.. Which to choose?

Here are the names of selected textbooks I’ve gone through and found to be really informative… They have precise information, not too detailed, not too short… Go to your bookstore and check them out!

Applied English Grammar and Composition (With Internal Assessment)

by Fr. Lawrence Mendonca

Living English for Seniors

By N.K. Aggarwala & Fr. George Thana

ICSE Question Bank in Mathematics for Class X (Including Model Test Papers)

By M.L. Aggarwal

This is a great book forย practicing math sums! I have the solutions to the model test papers at the back if you need them.

S. Chand & Company – New Delhi

By Viraf J. Dalal

Allied Publishers Private Limited

This is a highly recommended book, but the layout does not appeal much. The content is concise and the chapters are summarized precisely, with equations at the back; so you may want to check it out.

PART II (For Class X)

Goyal Brothers Prakashan

I highly recommend using this book. Very thorough; it even has many conversions needed for organic chemistry!

Concise Physics – I.C.S.E

Part II (Class X)

Selina Publishers – New Delhi

I recommend referring to this book, unless it has already been prescribed by your school. It covers all points and like it mentions in its title, it’s concise.

By Sarita Aggarwal

S. Chand & Comapny Ltd.

This is a very detailed book, but you’ll love studying from it! It has differences given at the back of each chapter and solved questions from board papers. Very appealing to the eye as well!

For Class X

By R.K. Lekhi and Neeru Verma

Kalyani Publisher

A very detailed book, but it helps you cover all the points needed.

PART II For Class X

Frank Bros. & Co.

Longman Geography for ICSE Class 10

By Gita Duggal

A Textbook of I.C.S.E Geography

Part II For Class X

By Veena Bhargava

Goyal Brothers Prakashan

Saraswati Basics of Contours & Survey Map

A Workbook for ICSE Students

Saraswati House (P) Ltd. – New Delhi

I recommend referring to this book for topography. Itย explainsย each and every thing needed to know while solving topo sheets and it has many model maps and questions, along with solved topography maps since 1999, and much more. Be sure to check it out!

Hi! The portion may have changed, but this blog is only for the notes and study material that I have collected during the year that I was in 10th grade. As for anything else, I’m sorry but I can’t post notes on something that I haven’t studied. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • icsehelpline101 says:

      Hi Kunjal!
I haven’t kept a record of the websites I went through… I only saved the important notes and questions which I’m sharing on this blog. And no, I didn’t join any classes. ๐Ÿ™‚
      Thank you for visiting!

I am not getting the mood of studying these days…..can u help me out wid sum awesum tips??
Also, please let me know what stream/subject you have taken in 11th.
        Thanks in advance…

      • icsehelpline101 says:

Not in the mood to study? Doesn’t that happen to all of us? ๐Ÿ™‚

You just have to keep your chin up, think about the future and how you would love to get good grades, and just start studying! It’s as simple as that. It’s all in your mind. Don’t think of studies as a burden, but as an interesting way to gain knowledge… and knowledge is power. ๐Ÿ˜‰

        Hope I helped! Happy studying!

  2. ira says:

how can i make physics easy to understand and learn. for me it is the most hard subject and i cant understand anyting in it and boards are near. plzz suggest ways to make it easy.

    • icsehelpline101 says:

      Easier to understand?
Well, just pay attention in class to what your teacher says.
At home, read through what has been taught in class that day.
Pretend that you actually like the subject. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Fake it till you make it… Eventually, who knows, Physics might just become your new favorite subject! You’ll have to learn to enjoy what you’re studying for you to remember it, and then, automatically, you’ll start liking the subject.
Most importantly, though, just talk to your teaher. Ask for help. Don’t be afraid, and don’t hesitate. No question is a silly one. Maybe your teacher can guide you better since he/she knows you more than I do.
And, I’ve learnt that by taking notes during class, you’ll be able to pay attention and remember things. It made studying a lot easier for me!

Hope I helped… Thank you for visiting! ๐Ÿ™‚

      • icsehelpline101 says:

        Hi Ira!

You should manage your time very wisely during these holidays. Take up the most boring or most difficult subject and finish it first. Complete the portion which you normally put off for the last. Save the easy chapters/subject for last – if you know something well, there’s no point in wasting time to revise it multiple times. Instead, use that time to work on your weaker spots.

Also, solve previous years’ math papers. Practice, practice, practice!!

Go through reliable answer keys of previous years’ papers for all subjects.

Don’t freak out!! No matter what everyone else says or does, it’s not the end of the world. Whatever you have scored till now does not define what you will score in the final board exams. Remain calm and tackle your difficulties with a clear mind. Don’t be afraid to ask your teachers for help! Go to school during the holidays to solve your doubts, and don’t stress over small tests. This is the time to improve and look over the minutest details of each chapter – not to score well on tests (if any).

Hope this helps! Good luck for your preparation! ๐Ÿ™‚

can i get important things of history of all chapter please help me and tell me how to prepare for board exam in 10 days for all subject

    • ICSE Helper says:

Many often refer to the textbook that you have mentioned. However, I found the two suggested in the above post as being appealing to the eyes and offering maximum possible information in various ways while sticking to the ICSE Scope of Syllabus as close as possible. You may of course, refer to Anita Prasad’s Biology textbook if you wish to do so.

      Thanks for visiting! ๐Ÿ™‚

Sir, as this is now a high time and we students are totally busy in our prelims and internals so please give us some tips on how to study now when there is so less time and we also cannot manage subjects such as hindi and eng on which we dont give much emphasis but are actually scoring…..
And I am personally facing a problem, that i am not able to deeply study any subject like every alternate day we have some or the other test and i have to study for that specific subject in two days but then i am not able to prepare deeply and give my 100 percent to each subject So sir what should I do now What I mean to say is that we are studying but not with any strategy but only giving exams…..
